5/17 in NYC: The Modern Loss Handbook Launch Event!
Plus, two more IRL New York City events this month: Rizzoli Bookstore and SaksWorks
Hi everyone,
With a little trepidation and a lot of hope, I’m entering the final week before the publication of my book, The Modern Loss Handbook: An Interactive Guide to Moving Through Grief and Building Your Resilience. It’s been a long road to this milestone and I’d love for anyone in or near New York City to help me launch this project into the world one of several events below.
More events around the country to be announced soon – drop a comment below if you’re interested in me coming to your town.
May 17 @ 7:30 pm: Book Launch on the JCC Manhattan Rooftop!
Join me for a Pub Day spring evening on the rooftop of the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, complete with drinks, safe nibbles, and a book signing. I’ll be in conversation with Vanessa Kroll Bennett, co-host of The Puberty Podcast and the founder of Dynamo Girl, a company focused on building kids’ self-esteem through sports, puberty education and parent workshops.
This event is cosponsored by The Wasserman Center for Family Life, The Center for Health + Wellness, The Lambert Center for Arts + Ideas, and What Matters: Caring Conversations About End of Life.
May 24 @ 12 pm: Lunchtime talk at SaksWorks with Hitha Palepu
Join us for a lunchtime event at the gorgeous SaksWorks, located in the penthouse of Saks Fifth Avenue's iconic Midtown Manhattan flagship building. I’ll be in conversation with Hitha Palepu, CEO of Rhoshan Pharmaceuticals and author of the book We Are Speaking: The Life Lessons of Kamala Harris: How to Use Your Voice, Be Assertive, and Own Your Story.
May 25 @ 6:30 pm: Live storytelling at Rizzoli!
Celebrate our Six-Word Memoir storytelling at one of the most beautiful bookstores in New York City. I’ve invited my friends Sara Benincasa (comedian, host of the podcast “Well, This Isn’t Normal" and the author of "Real Artists Have Day Jobs"), Michael Cruz Kayne (writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and host of the podcast “A Good Cry”) and Rachel Sklar (founder of the Li.st) to share stories that stem from our losses – the good, the bad, the ugly, and even the hilarious – and I may just ask you to share some of your own, too.
Advance registration required. Doors open at 6 pm, event begins at 6:30 pm.
Please note, guests over the age of five must wear masks and show proof of vaccination (either a vaccine card or an Excelsior Pass).
